FSCA Directive on FICA Compliance DPI 2024
As you may be aware the FSCA has a mandate to discharge its duties as a Supervisory Body in terms of Item 1 of Schedule 2 to the FIC Act. In this regard the FSCA has issued a new directive, FSCA Communication 20 of 2024, under the Financial Intelligence Centre Act 38 of 2001 (FIC Act), requiring all accountable institutions to provide specific compliance information by completing the Directive to Provide Information 2024 (DPI).
The DPI 2024 is a comprehensive online questionnaire aimed at ensuring that all accountable institutions comply with the FIC Act and must be completed online and submitted from 27 May 2024 to 31 July 2024.
In the FSCA Communication 20 of 2024, the FSCA has confirmed the DPI 2024 then falls within the purview of the accountable institution (as designated under the FIC Act) and must be completed by the key individual of the FSP.
